Our Happy Families

In Helping His Heart Heal, He Stole Mine

Never did I expect that this wonderful mighty mite named Mojo would join my family. But he and my dogs had other ideas! He was a member of the pack and family from day one. He’s been such a source of joy and happiness in my life. Mojo continues to amaze me with each day. He’s a ‘superman’ in flyball and plays other K9 sports in a limited capacity due to his heart condition. I love him so.

Reba is Our Sweet Baby

We thank God everyday for bringing MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue, volunteers: Kay, Joe and David into our lives: these people are God’s angels here on earth, they all were so nice and so caring to us and all those collies they love and take care of. I know it is hard on them when foster dogs leave their home but they care so much for the dogs and want them to find their furever home. Reba makes getting up everyday such a joy and she gives us so much love.

A Blessing in More Ways Than I Can Count

Jilly has been a blessing in more ways than I can count. She is my constant companion and accompanies me most places. She hoards her tennis balls and hides her soccer balls in the woods. She seems to be always thinking, and you can sense when she has an “idea”, though they are not always good ones. In general, it’s the typically wonderful life with a Border Collie.

Instantly Fell in Love

We lost our two young dogs in an accident. After three nights we needed a dog in the house, so when Becky contacted me and said she had a dog that I may like we decided to meet Izzy. I have to be honest, I wasn’t ready for another dog but we needed a dog in the house and my husband and son fell instantly in love with her. Since then, Izzy has become a wonderful addition to our family. She is a certified Service Demo Dog for Paws With A Cause and my son has shown her the last two years in 4-H and she does a wonderful job with/for him (he’s only 8).

I Will Always Rescue a Border Collie

Chessie is our third Border Collie/Border Collie Mix rescue. Her 6 year old ‘sister’ is Bella. They are so intelligent, loyal, yet fun loving. We live on 89 acres and have horses, goat, cat/kittens, too much wildlife … inclusive of coyotes – boo. So they have such an outlet for energy – yet they are great house dogs – even being in the sunny laundry room all day while we work. I can go on and on and on. I love these dogs so much. I will always rescue a Border Collie – all three have been about 5 months of age – and are the perfect age for a working couple. Maybe when we retire I will get to get a younger one!
